Frequently asked questions

Segway tours: participation and safety — what should I know? health_and_safety

Riding a Segway requires standing, light forward–back and side-to-side balance, and short bursts of effort on level ground. We provide CE-compliant helmets, a short training session and a safety briefing; following the guide’s instructions is mandatory.

In the following situations a tour may not be suitable for safety reasons, or we may ask for medical clearance:

  • Spine and lower back: Active disc pain, serious chronic back issues, early post-surgery recovery, or when your doctor forbids prolonged standing or vibration.
  • Head and nervous system: Recent serious head injury or repeated concussion; uncontrolled vertigo, balance disorders or epilepsy.
  • Arms, hands, legs, feet: Fracture, plate or cast in the last 6–12 months; pain that prevents a safe stance; prosthesis or mobility-limiting joint problems.
  • Heart and circulation: Chest pain, heart failure, uncontrolled hypertension, or when your doctor does not approve moderate activity.
  • Pregnancy: Segway tours are generally not recommended during pregnancy.
  • Alcohol and drugs: Alcohol or impairment before or during the tour means you cannot participate.
  • Weight and height: Manufacturer and operator limits (e.g. weight range) are confirmed at booking and check-in; guests outside those limits cannot join for safety reasons.

Bodrum has pavements, light slopes and uneven setts; balance or serious hearing/vision issues can increase risk. If in doubt, consult your doctor before the tour and tell us your situation so we can choose the safest option together.

Is there a minimum age? expand_more
Yes. For safety and insurance reasons the minimum age is usually 12; exact age and weight limits are confirmed before the tour. Guests under 18 may need written or verified accompaniment from a parent or guardian.
How does cancellation work? expand_more
Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the tour time are handled according to refund or date-change rules as stated in your agreement. Cancellations within the last 24 hours may be partially charged or non-refundable; see your booking confirmation for the exact policy.
How long are the tours? expand_more
Depending on the package, durations are about 1.5 hours, 2.5 hours and 4.5 hours. The stated time includes a short safety briefing and helmet fitting; route and weather may vary by a few minutes.
